The 6th annual Pancreatic Cancer Advocacy Day and National Call-In is June 26, 2012. Join the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network supporters in fighting to let their voices be heard all the way to Washington, DC. The goal of this day is to gather supporters to encourage Congress to make pancreatic cancer a higher priority by passing the Pancreatic Cancer Research and Education Act. Pancreatic cancer is the 4th leading cause of cancer related deaths and has a 6% survival rate. Currently, pancreatic cancer only receives a mere 2% of funding from the National Cancer Institute. Because there is no early detection for pancreatic cancer, 85% of people are diagnosed at stage IV. By supporting this legislation, you are saving lives and making progression in research possible.

It’s easy to make a big difference in a small amount of time with little effort! It’s simple: sign-up to receive an email which provides instruction on how to place your call to two US Senators and your US Representative on June 26th. The 3 calls take just 10 minutes, just 10 minutes out of your day in which you can affect change.

The Mattress Firm Foundation’s goal is to support clinical trials for pancreatic cancer research and raise awareness. We believe that every single person CAN make a difference. Last year they were able to reach 100 US Senators and 338 of the 435 US Representatives and over 2,800 calls were made to Congress.
